We've got an ISO standard. It is called TIFF/EP. It didn't solve this problem.

What we need is for all hardware and software products to support the only candidate for a common raw format we are likely to have: DNG.

The aim of OpenRAW should be to get the best quality information available to enable the highest-quality conversions of raw formats to DNG. If necessary, this information should identify where the DNG specification needs to be updated, so that it will be publicly documented after conversion.

Once we can convert all raw formats to DNG without losing information, OpenRAW's objectives will be achieved.
